Aion 2 Prepares for U4N Launch Scale Testing

Aion 2 is moving closer to its upcoming Early Access period with a two-day Launch Scale Test scheduled for September 17 and 18. NC, formerly operating under the NCSOFT name, is inviting the wider player community to participate without requiring keys or special invitations. The event is designed primarily to evaluate servers and supporting infrastructure before the game enters its next phase. Players interested in Aion 2 Items will be able to explore part of the game during the test, but they should remember that this is a temporary environment with several restrictions and a complete progression wipe at the end.

When the Public Test Begins

Players can begin preparing before the actual testing sessions open. The pre-download period starts at 6:00 a.m. PT on Wednesday, September 16 and continues until 6:00 a.m. PT on Thursday, September 17. Completing the download during this window can help participants avoid spending their limited testing time waiting for the game files to become available.

The first testing session begins at 6:00 a.m. PT on Thursday, September 17 and ends at noon. The second session starts at noon PT on Friday, September 18 and concludes at 6:00 p.m. This means participants receive two separate windows to explore the test environment.

One convenient feature is that progress from Day 1 carries into Day 2. Players can return to the same temporary character and continue from where they stopped. However, this continuity only applies within the Launch Scale Test itself.

Temporary Characters Have a Limited Purpose

The characters created during the event should be viewed as testing tools rather than permanent avatars. Once Day 2 ends, all progress will be wiped. Levels, equipment, resources, and other achievements earned during the test will not move into Founder’s Pack Early Access or the full game launch.

This approach allows NC to collect useful technical information without needing to maintain test progress as part of the live game. The company can observe how players interact with the available systems while keeping the environment separate from the permanent progression that begins later.

For players, the best way to approach the event is therefore to experiment and learn rather than worry about efficiency. Since nothing will ultimately carry forward, participants can focus on discovering the available gameplay and getting comfortable with the mechanics.

Restrictions Define the Test Environment

Several systems are deliberately unavailable during the Launch Scale Test. Purchases cannot be made, while the shop, Quna, passes, memberships, and payment portals are disabled. This prevents the test from functioning like the full commercial version of the game.

The Marketplace, Quna exchange, and player-to-player trading are also unavailable. Founder’s Pack items cannot be accessed during testing, either. The Closet system has been disabled as well, so players will be restricted to default outfits instead of the broader customization options.

The level limit is another major restriction. Characters cannot progress beyond level 37. Content that requires a higher level will therefore remain inaccessible during the event. These limitations help keep the testing environment focused on the areas NC wants to monitor before Early Access.

Getting Ready for September 30

Once the Launch Scale Test is complete, players should check which client they are using. Steam participants will need to uninstall the Aion 2 Playtest App and download the separate Aion 2 client intended for Advanced Access. That access period starts on September 30. Players using PURPLE do not need to make additional changes.

For those planning to explore the game economy after launch, the test can still provide useful preparation. Players considering buy Aion 2 Boosting options later can first use the event to understand character progression, combat flow, and available gameplay systems. Because trading is disabled, this preparation is entirely focused on learning the game itself.

The Launch Scale Test represents an important step between development and Early Access. Its temporary characters, restricted systems, and level cap are all intended to create a manageable environment for infrastructure testing. At the same time, the open format gives players a chance to see Aion 2 before September 30. While the progress will not survive the final test session, the experience can help participants arrive at Early Access with a clearer understanding of the game.
