Trail Boss Tire Size Guide: Stock Sizes, 33-Inch & 35-Inch Tire Options
The Trail Boss ships with LT275/65R18 tires on an 18-inch wheel, with a 2-inch factory suspension lift built into the trim. That size measures roughly 32.7 inches tall, which is why most owners round up and call it a 33.
- Stock tire: LT275/65R18, commonly a Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac
- Wheel: 18x8.5-inch high-gloss black aluminum
- Ground clearance: About 2 inches higher than a standard Silverado LT, from the factory lift and Z71 suspension
Because the factory rubber already is about 33 inches, the Trail Boss doesn't need much help to look the part off-road, which is why the Silverado Trail Boss tire size usually starts at 33.
The 33-Inch Route: Staying Close to Stock
A true 33-inch tire, like a 285/70R17 or 33x12.50R18, is the easiest upgrade on this truck. Since the factory setup is already near that mark, most owners fit 33s with no lift and no gearing changes.
- Fits on the stock 18-inch wheel or a 17-inch swap
- No re-gear needed for most drivers
- Speedometer error stays minor, usually under 3%
It's the size most Trail Boss owners land on when they want a more aggressive tread without changing how the truck drives day to day.
